Your complete preparation hub for the APSC Combined Competitive Examination — syllabus, pattern, PYQs, mock tests, cut-offs and strategy.
The APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission to recruit candidates into Assam's premier state services — including the Assam Civil Service (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS) and other Class-I and Class-II posts under the Government of Assam.
The CCE is held in three stages: a Preliminary Examination (objective, screening only), a Main Examination (written, descriptive) and a Personality Test / Interview. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the Mains and Interview marks combined (1680 marks); prelims marks are not counted in the final ranking.
This hub brings together everything an aspirant needs in one place: the official eligibility rules, the latest exam pattern, the full prelims and mains syllabus, previous-year papers, timed mock tests, historical cut-off trends, recommended books and a stage-wise preparation strategy.
2025–26 cycle
APSC has notified the Combined Competitive Examination for 78 posts across 11 services. Online applications are open in the April–May 2026 window, with the Preliminary Examination tentatively scheduled for July 2026. Always confirm dates on the official APSC portal.

Daily and monthly current affairs, Assam-weighted.
APSC CCE rewards consistency over cramming. Build a strong NCERT-based foundation, layer Assam-specific static GK on top, and practise with timed mocks and previous-year papers throughout. Treat the qualifying CSAT seriously — clearing it is non-negotiable.
1. Master the syllabus & pattern
Print the official syllabus and map every topic to a resource. Know the prelims-vs-mains weightage before you start.
2. Build the NCERT base
Finish NCERTs for History, Geography, Polity and Economy. This single step covers a large share of the prelims GS paper.
3. Go deep on Assam GK
Assam history, geography, economy, art & culture and current affairs are CareerUdaya's strength — and a high-yield, less-competitive scoring area.
4. Don't ignore CSAT
Paper II is qualifying (33%). Practise comprehension, reasoning and basic numeracy weekly so it never becomes a surprise.
5. Practise with timed mocks & PYQs
Attempt full-length and sectional mocks under exam conditions, then review every wrong answer. Use previous-year papers to calibrate difficulty.
6. Revise current affairs daily
Maintain short, dated notes from a newspaper and a monthly capsule, weighted toward Assam and the Northeast.
7. Start Mains answer-writing early
Once prelims foundations are in place, practise structured descriptive answers and essays in your chosen medium (English or Assamese).
