Economy & Energy — Energy Statistics India 2026

Defence — INS Malvan Commissioned

On 22 July 2026, the Indian Navy commissioned INS Malvan, the second of the indigenously designed and built Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC), at Karwar. Assam & Science — Bharat 6G and IIT Guwahati

In a 22 July 2026 Lok Sabha reply, the Department of Telecommunications detailed progress under the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) and the Spectrum Roadmap for 6G in India. Stakeholder participation in 3GPP, ITU and oneM2M is supported under DoT’s Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) scheme. Cooperation — National Cooperation Policy 2025

On 22 July 2026, the Ministry of Cooperation reviewed implementation of the National Cooperation Policy (NCP), 2025. The policy provides a 10-year roadmap for systematic cooperative-sector development and has 6 strategic pillars, 16 objectives and 83 recommendations. Two apex monitoring bodies have been constituted: a National Steering Committee on Cooperation Policy, chaired by the Union Minister of Cooperation, for overall guidance and inter-ministerial coordination; and a national Policy Implementation and Monitoring Committee, chaired by the Union Cooperation Secretary, for Centre–State coordination, bottleneck resolution and evaluation. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship informed the Lok Sabha on 22 July 2026 that the number of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) rose from 9,642 in 2014 to 13,856 in 2026, while seating capacity increased from 17,42,986 (session 2014–15) to 20,07,580. The Directorate General of Training (DGT) has introduced 32 new-age courses under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS), including Artificial Intelligence Programming Assistant, Cyber Security Assistant, Drone Pilot (Junior), Green Hydrogen Production Technician and Industrial Robotics. Agriculture & Exports — Mango Sea-Route Protocol

On 22 July 2026, PIB reported a completed commercial breakthrough: 12.5 tonnes of premium Dashehari and Langra mangoes were exported from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, to Dubai, UAE, in a 40-foot reefer container by sea under a sea-route export protocol jointly developed by ICAR–Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture (ICAR-CISH), Lucknow, and APEDA. The consignment was treated with METWASH (ICAR-CISH shelf-life technology), graded and packed at the Amroha Pack House under continuous cold chain. Harvested on 22 June 2026, the fruit reached Dubai on 17 July 2026 after a 25-day harvest-to-market transit (including weather-related delay); nearly 90% remained marketable. Growers realised about ₹15–20 per kg extra over conventional export channels because sea freight is far cheaper than air freight. This is the first successful commercial sea shipment of these UP varieties to Dubai under such an extended transit, validating a lower-cost export pathway for other mango-producing States. International Affairs — 16th BRICS Health Ministers’ Meeting

As part of India’s BRICS Chairship 2026, the 16th BRICS Health Ministers’ Meeting is being hosted in Chandigarh from 22–24 July 2026.
