Economy — Revised Index of Core Industries

On 20 July 2026, the Office of the Economic Adviser (OEA) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, released the first Index of Core Industries under the new series with Base Year 2022–23, replacing the 2011–12 series. Under the new series, the ICI grew by 5.0% (provisional) in June 2026 year-on-year — a five-month high and an improvement on 3.2% in May 2026 (final). Assam & Northeast — Mission Golden Spice

Banking & FinTech — Digital Lending Safeguards
